Presentation

The “Plant Biology” Master’s offers training in plant sciences at scales of study ranging from the gene to the production basin to meet current environmental and societal challenges. This diploma offers two courses offering students multidisciplinary teaching allowing them to integrate academic research and socio-economic sectors.

This mention is resolutely international, offering many lessons taught in English and periods of lessons in European universities. The training of this Master is positioned on science fronts benefiting from the skills and specificities of the site's research laboratories. The creation of two courses responds to current socio-environmental issues by offering innovative training at different scales of study (from the molecule to the agroecosystem and up to the territory), on different models (including perennial species, ligneous and field crops ) and in close connection with local research activities.

Specificity

The Master "Plant Biology" is an international Master for which a significant part of the teaching will be carried out in English. At a minimum, the training is planned to be 100% in a foreign language for the semesters during which students from partner universities will be received. Outside of these semesters, teaching in English will be preferred and will be deployed in all course units.

French and French-speaking students will be encouraged to take the TOEIC in order to assess their English language skills and to conduct, if necessary, a process to improve their skills by implementing linguistic support and by facilitating the completion of teaching units or/and internships with foreign partners.

Let’s Work Together

We are a group of master's degree students of Clermont Auvergne university (in France) that study plant biology. Concerned by what is happening around us, we have decided to act by holding a symposium every year, in September.  The objective is to allow exchanges between professionals, from various sectors, in order to identify current and futur problems and provide solutions.
